Jeremy Gill, Musical Director



Hails from Harrisburg , Pennsylvania and after years of private study in oboe and composition, attended Eastman School of Music, from which he received his Bachelor’s in composition. While there, in 1996 he began as assistant conductor with the University of Rochester Orchestra and the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. He started his PhD in music composition at the University of Pennsylvania , the same year
he assumed the position of assistant to Maestro Richard Westerfield with the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra. After receiving his PhD from University of Pennsylvania , he joined the faculty of West Chester State University .

Jeremy has received numerous awards including two BMI Student Composers Awards, an ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Award for Young Composers, and a Music Alive residency grant from Meet the Composer and the American Symphony Orchestra League. He has been commissioned by the Chamber Singers of Harrisburg, The Greater Harrisburg Foundation, Market Square Concerts, The Harrisburg Symphony and Network for New Music for his compositions. Dr. Gill has performed throughout the United States as well as in France and the Czech Republic . Dr. Gill is currently on the music faculty (Theory) at Temple University .

He recently became the conductor of the Atlantic Coast Opera of NJ. The Chocolate Soldier was his first collaboration with COT and recently was the music director of their 5th season birthday concert - A Night in Vienna!
